The Rochester Hy-Vee stores hosted a wish list drive on behalf of Ronald McDonald House on the weekend of September 16, 2017.
On Saturday and Sunday, Ronald McDonald House volunteers greeted customers at the store entrances, handed out wish lists and collected items.
Marit Williams, Communications Director for Ronald McDonald House of Rochester said, “Because of Hy-Vee’s wish list drive, we were able to successfully fill the shelves of our food pantry. Thank you to everyone in the local community who donated an item, a shopping bag of donations or a cart-full of food to our families. Collectively they all added up and will make our families’ lives a little easier this fall. Thank you Hy-Vee for your partnership and ongoing commitment to local non-profits!”
Not everyone is lucky enough to be home for the holidays. That’s the inspiration behind Hy-Vee Rochester’s Balloon Brigade.
The goal is to deliver 1,000 balloons to children undergoing treatment in our community.
December 1 through December 11, customers are invited to donate a balloon valued at $5, $10 or $15 during checkout. Then, on December 19, a team of Hy-Vee helpful smiles will deliver these balloons to children at Mayo Clinic, St. Mary’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House.
When you’re in shopping this week, please consider donating a balloon to a child who can’t be home for the holidays. It’s a simple way to spread cheer this holiday season.
