Touch A Truck at 37th Street Hy-Vee

In honor of Patriot Day on Monday, September 11, the Rochester North Hy-Vee hosted a Touch-a-Truck and More event at the store. The event began at 4 p.m. when Mayo One landed in the parking lot, and the event provided a chance for kids to get up close with the helicopter as well as other big trucks, go-carts and public safety vehicles. Hot dogs and hamburgers were available for purchase, and free meals from the grill were offered to police officers, firefighters, EMT personnel, military members and veterans. A local celebrity dunk tank will also a big hit, featuring local celebrities such as MN97.5 radio host Cash, KAAL-ABC6 News anchor Karsen Forsman, Fire Battalion Chief Eric Kerska, Olmsted County Captain Scott Behrns and Hy-Vee store director Chad Thacker. Event proceeds benefitted the Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation of Southeast Minnesota.  Foundation board members accepted a check for $510.76 on September 18th at the store.
